A church for all nations

Sandra Buckley

I grew up in a non church going family and at the age of two my father died of cancer. When I was twelve I went to a “Sunshine Corner” childrens meeting and was deeply moved as I heard about the love of God and Jesus dying for me. A childrens camp at Robin Hood’s Bay is where I surrendered my life to Christ and was baptised a short time later. I met my future husband in a Saturday night open air service in the centre of Sheffield. I supported my husband as he pastored four churches and we brought up three children. When I was 40 I found my calling as I began working in the care sector including nursing homes for the young disabled and for the elderly, Care in the Community and as a Care Coordinator. I finally became a part time care worker for the elderly with a large Baptist church in Colchester. After my Husband’s retirement and 27 years in care work we moved back to Sheffield.
