Being a light in Lockdown 2021
John 8:12; Matthew 5:14-16
Jesus teaches that it’s not all about Him being the light. He expects us to be the light of the world as well. He has shone His light into us and He expects us to not hide that light. We need to display His light in us. Our light should be like a town on a hill (Matthew 5:14). We should let people see the fruit of His light in our lives. His light brings good works that glorify God. It is not all about what God can do for us, but it’s about showing others the light within us. How are you being the light of the world to others? Are you shining for Jesus?
To shine for Jesus you need to:
- Be light in your family. Will you be light to your family? Will they see your love and care and good deeds? If we don’t teach our children who God is, someone else will teach them everything that He isn’t.
- Be light in your community. Are you letting your light shine in your community? What are you doing personally to help the church to shine? Who is God putting in your path?
- Be light in your city, nation and world. Light always reaches out into the darkness. Light is determined by the strength of it’s source. Light always disperses the darkness. A world without God is a dark place. We are the only ones who can light up the world.
