The Gospel of Luke: Jesus is for everyone – Jesus has the power to transform lives
Luke 8:26-38
In this story we see Jesus’s power over the supernatural. Luke is declaring who Jesus is.
He is declaring that Jesus came to transform lives forever. There is no-one who’s live cannot be transformed be Jesus. Jesus can transform all of us.
- Jesus transforms lives – Jesus was unafraid of this man and the demons. They knew who Jesus was. Jesus drove the demons out and delivered him. The people had tried to help this man, but every human attempt had failed. Only Jesus had the power to set him free and transform his life forever.
- Every person needs deliverance and transformation – It was not just the demons possessed man who needed delivering and transforming. The people around needed deliverance and their lives transformed. Everyone needs their lives transformed. We need to recognise the Devil’s domain. No-one is too bad for Jesus to deliver and transform.
- Jesus commands delivered and transformed people to proclaim Jesus – We each have a testimony and we should share it with everyone. When was the last time you shared what Jesus had done for you? There is power in personal testimony. If Jesus has transformed our lives then He can transform others. Can people see the change in your life? Do people want to know what has changed your life?
