The Gospel of Luke – Jesus is for everyone: This is Christmas – Who is Jesus?
Luke 2:8-14; 4:14-30
Believers will say, “Christmas is all about Jesus”. Non-believers will say, “Christmas is all about parties, feasting, presents, etc”. Christmas to them is more about Disney than Jesus. Some know the story, but they do not see it as relevant to them.
In Luke we see the following:
In Chapter 1 the birth of Jesus is foretold and He is proclaimed as the Son of God, no ordinary baby.
In Chapter 2 we have the miracle of the virgin birth. Jesus is again proclaimed the Messiah, the Son of God. Jesus amazes the religious leaders.
In Chapter 3 John the Baptist points to Jesus as the Messiah, the Son of God and we hear God declaring Jesus His Son at Jesus’s baptism.
In Chapter 4 the devil himself declares Jesus the Son of God and when Jesus begins His ministry He proclaimed Himself the Messiah, the Son of God.
Who is Jesus to you this Christmas? Do you believe that He is the Messiah, the Son of God? Will you believe it?
