Trusting the Lord in Tier 3: God responds to people who are struggling
In Isaiah 40 it seemed that God had abandoned the people of Israel. They were in exile and were complaining, “My way is hidden from God. My cause is disregarded by God. Does God care?” We can feel the same today. Many are struggling under Coronavirus restrictions. Many are asking questions of “Why?” God answers to His people in Isaiah are the same today:
- The Lord is the Everlasting God. God is eternal. He is not confined to time.
- God is the creator of the ends of the earth. There is nowhere that is unknown to God. He is not limited to time or space. We can experience Him wherever we are. There are no ‘no go’ areas for God. Wherever life may take us God is already there for us.
- God is inexhaustible. God does not grow tired or weary. We need food, rest, sleep, etc. God needs none of these. He is always fully alive, fully awake and fully active. He is always fresh, alert and able.
- God is wise. God’s understanding is unfathomable. There is so much we do not understand. Life is bewildering. God is never surprised by anything. He knows all things.
