You’ll never walk alone
Enoch walked with God (Genesis 5:21-24). His walk appears to have began with the birth of his son and lasted for 300 years before God ‘took him away’.
Enoch’s walk was:
- A domestic walk – You can walk with God in whatever life you have and wherever you are. We can walk with God in the common things of life.
- A faith walk – Hebrews 11 is a list of people of faith. Enoch had no Bible and no church, but he walked with God all the same. We are called to walk by faith and not sight.
- A close walk – Enoch walked WITH God – not behind or in front, but alongside God. You cannot walk with God and hold hands with the devil. God revealed himself to Enoch (Jude 14-15).
Enoch lived 365 years, a ‘year of years’, and then he was no more. God took him from this world – his life was complete. Jesus’life appeared to be cut short, but He said “It is finished”. Enoch disrupted the reign of death. Jesus not only disrupted but broke the reign of death. We will no longer die if we walk with God.
