Unshakable faith
Ephesians 1:18; Romans 4:18-24
Don’t get too comfortable. God always has more in store for us. The kingdom of God is always at hand. There is always a man or woman at the well wherever we go. Paul prayed that his readers eyes would be opened to the power of God.
Abraham was fully convinced that God would do what He had promised. His faith was unshakable. Faith is a seed. The devil wants to snatch seeds. We need to let the Word of God be planted in our hearts.
We need to stop trusting in ourselves and move in the power of the Holy Spirit. We need to trust God in His Word. We need to trust Jesus, in Him all things are held together (Colossians 1:17). God’s Word never returns to Him void (Isaiah 55:11). Jesus came to give us live in all abundance (John 10:10).
We are not called to worry. Jesus said to cast all our worries on Him (). Are you standing on the promises of God. Who are we allowing to cut in on our race. We are called to keep in step with the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:7-8, 25).
Are you yielding to what God wants in your life? What do you do when the vehicle of God fullfilling His promise looks dead? Do you rely on the facts you see or the promises of God? Facts don’t expire faith, they promote it. The Word of God has no expiry date (Isaiah 55:11).
Do you recognise Jesus, the presence of God, when He shows up (Matthew 14:26)? There is always a distance between us and Jesus, but we have to take a step of faith. Your finish line is God’s starting line (Ephesians 3:20). Peter stepping off the boat defied everything he knew to be true. Are you willing to step out of the boat?
We are the best vehicles of God. He has put His treasure in us, vessels of clay (2 Corinthians 4:7).
Are you prepared to look at the facts and face them with faith as Abraham did? You can do this by coming to Jesus, the author, perfecter and finisher of our faith.
