Created for a purpose and placed for a reason

Created for a purpose and placed for a reason

Ephesians 2:10; Esther 4:14

Ephesians 2:10 – We are not an afterthought. We are God’s handiwork. God took time to prearranged our lives before He created us. He also makes things fall into place for His plans for us (Romans 8:28).

Esther 4:14 – They is a place that only you can fit in.

Genesis 1:26-28; 2:20-24 – God made us in His image with a purpose. We are like clay that God moulded into the shape He wanted. God made Eve comparable to Adam, made for a purpose. It was not good for Adam to be alone. God saw that Adam needed a helper comparable to him. The devil seeks to take us down and distract us from God’s purpose.

God’s purpose is for us to glorify Him and to honour Him in all our actions.

Women who rose to their purpose:

  1. Deborah – A judge, a wife, a military officer and a prophet. She rose up in all these roles. Although she had no recorded children she rose up as a mother of Israel (Judges 5:7).
  2. Esther – An orphaned Jew. She rose up to become courageous – “if I perish, I perish”. She rose up to fulfil her purpose. Esther remained connected to the Lord. She stayed connected to the people around her.
  3. Jochebed (Moses’ mother (Exodus 6:20)) and Miriam (Moses’ sister) – Moses mother rose up and refused to give up her son. His sister saw that he was found and nursed by his own mother.
  4. Lois and Eunice – They held up generational faith with their household.
  5. Rizpah (2 Samuel 21) – Made sure that justice was served.

Women who did not understand their purpose:

  1. Eve – She failed to trust God.
  2. Lot’s wife – She was unable to appreciate the mercy of Gid. She looked back and did not want to leave her lifestyle.
  3. Sapphera (Acts 5) – Was complicit in her husbands deception and lied.

We need to find our purpose, fulfil it and fully function in it. We need to align our whole lives with God’s word, His will and His way (Romans 12:2; Jeremiah 29:11; Matthew 6:33; Mathew 5:14).
