The light of the world
The New is in the Old concealed, the Old is is the New revealed.
- The New is in the Old concealed – Jesus appears repeatedly hidden in the Old Testament.
- The Old is in the New revealed – The Old Testament is revealed in Jesus. The true light has come into the world. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it. Where there is light there is no darkness.
What is your source of light? Jesus is the everlasting light (Isaiah 60:20; Revelation 22:5). Our imperfections will show up in the light of Jesus. We need these imperfections to be revealed so we can become more like Jesus and be right with God.
Having received the light we need to shine brightly for God. We are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14).
