Will Bassett is the Senior Pastor of Rock Christian Centre Sheffield. He is a pastor, preacher and leader with a deep love for Jesus, the local church, and the presence of God. His heart is to see people come to know Christ, believers grow into spiritual maturity, and the Church experience genuine revival and biblical reformation.
Will is passionate about preaching and teaching the Word of God practically and passionately with clarity and conviction, while making room for the power and work of the Holy Spirit. At the heart of his ministry is a desire to see the Church become a truly New Testament community — devoted to the Word, prayer, fellowship and worship, filled with the Spirit, reaching the lost, and carrying the presence of Jesus into its city and beyond.
Before coming to Sheffield, Will served as Lead Pastor of Ridgeway Community Church in Didcot, Oxfordshire. His ministry journey has also included pastoring in South Africa, completing a ministry internship in the United States, and serving in a wide variety of roles including youth ministry, children’s ministry, small groups and itinerant preaching in churches across the UK. Before entering full-time pastoral ministry, Will also worked in facilities management and social services.
Will trained at Moorlands Bible College and holds a Master’s degree in Theology from Union School of Theology. He has a particular love for biblical exposition, theology and church history, and is passionate about bringing together deep biblical conviction with a genuine dependence upon the Holy Spirit.
Will is married to Sarah, and together they have two young children, Grace and Titus. Sarah previously worked in media and journalism, including a number of years with BBC News, and now works with Open Doors UK while serving alongside Will in the life of the church.
Outside of ministry, Will loves spending time with his family, reading, travelling, cooking, keeping fit and following sport — and he is always happy when good food and good company are involved!
